SAREE or SARI

A saree is a type of garment worn by women in India and other countries of South Asia. It consists of a long piece of cloth that is usually draped around the body, over the shoulder and down to the feet, but may be wrapped around toga-style.  Each saree is woven by skilled craftsmen drawing inspiration from regional landscapes. A saree is typically six metres long but could extend to nine metres for certain traditional drapes such as the South Indian madisar style or Maharashtrian kasta style.
